This book deals with the beginning of an activity that is important for many sectors of tourism. Still, its main purposeis rescuingthose first steps of oblivion.
The starting point was the port of Ushuaia, when there were no hotels in this city and tourism was practically non-exitstent, thanks to the important action of Argentina in Antarctica, in this special case the Argentine Navy.
The interesting and particular of this book is that it collects testimonies of the first tourists who participated in this wonderful experience, among them the one of Carlos Vicente Cácharo, currently with 93 years old, who brought us more than 400 photos, his logbook, and curious and surprising stories.
