José Luis Miralles

He was born on August 31st, 1959, in San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires. He lives in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.
His works include painting, craftwork, metal and stone jewelry, sculpture, and he has incorporated video and multimedia elements.
The main theme of his pictorial work is contemporary reality shown by means of the language of images.
Work experience: Plastic artist at the Culture Department of Ushuaia Town Council.

Murals in the Public Highway

1995 “The Feathered Serpent,” 100 meters long mural at Don Bosco street, between San Martín and Deloqui, Ushuaia, made in collaboration with Jorge "Spider" Gregorio Corvalán and Ignacio "Nacho” Souirrille, with the sponsorship of the Culture Department of Ushuaia Town Council (which later authorized a religious group to wipe it out because they believed that this mural was the cause of all the evils of the town).
